3 Reasons Resuming the Feud with Megyn Kelly is Bad Strategy for Donald Trump

SPQR_US  made an excellent comment:
To me Trumps strategy is now clear. At first I thought Good Lord he’s squandering his lead emotionally. Then after this latest exchange I realized exactly what he was doing. He’s really strategic. Sun Tzu would be proud. He’s dominating the airwaves all conversations and he’s forcing his rivals into the field of battle into a roaring melee that they weren’t prepared for. This is his ground and he’s taking bite after bite out of them as they run hopelessly in open ground. His dominance of the news on all fronts means only he chooses who can speak and when they do he hits them again. Meanwhile he’s prepared a series of truly bunker busting hugely popular detailed nationalistic policy plans. The first of which was immigration. As the field under him struggles to deal with his incessant rains of arrows he send down on to them Trump is busy flanking them in the primary cutting off all avenues of escape because he holds all the strategic ground and the GOPe is forced to reactionary mode.

Trump NEEDS a war with Faux news. Otherwise the other candidates will have a chance to speak and possibly come out of shock or be heard.

Trump has baked in that he’s going to get back stabbed. I doubt he expected what he got in the first debate in terms of betrayal but…such a man as Trump just adds Faux news into the hopper and thus ultimately has a freer hand as a result. He knew most would attack him and that just adds to the noise, uncertainty and fear that he is herding the hapless and reviled RINOs with.

Trump needs a war: the bigger the louder the uglier the better…Trump 2016!!!
I mean look he’s at 40%!!!

To which I replied:
Your analysis is spot on and Megyn’s interview with Jorge Ramos that night played right into The Donald’s hands. She turned herself into “just another liberal journalist” by giving Ramos a forum on FOX where he could spout his La Raza Reconquista agenda rhetoric directly to the Fox News audience.

Trump even got Ailes to pronounce that his “goal here is to save the country”, even though no one ever elected Ailes to save anything. Ailes jumping feet first into the Trump-Fox war only serves to reinforce the idea that Fox has become the “official” spokesman of the RINO wing of the GOP.

The entire situation can only mean one of two things, that Trump is either a crazy political troll or strategic political genius. We don’t see too many crazy trolls becoming billionaires, and the Trump poll numbers keep rising so …
